Bio: During his tenure at Redwood High School, the program has achieved tremendous success, including eight league championships and back-to-back CIF Division II team championships. Under his leadership, Redwood has consistently developed top-level athletes and established itself as one of the premier programs in the Central Section.

One of the highlights of Coach Watts’ career at Redwood came in 2014 when Joey Cisneros became a CIF State placer, marking a major milestone for the program. 

Before arriving at Redwood, Coach Watts served as the head coach at El Diamante High School for five seasons. During that time, he coached his sons, David and Randall Watts, both standout wrestlers in the Central Section. David became a two-time CIF State placer, while Randle earned one CIF State medal. Both were four-time CIF State qualifiers during their high school careers. 

As an athlete, Coach Watts was a two-time CIF State qualifier in high school before continuing his wrestling career at the collegiate level. He earned Junior College All-American honors at Palomar College and later competed for two seasons at California State University, Chico. 

In addition to coaching, Watts currently serves as a physical education teacher at Redwood High School.

Bio:

Michael Wright II enters his sixth season as Assistant Head Coach of the Redwood High School Wrestling program. During his time on staff, the program has achieved tremendous success, including five consecutive league championships and two CIF Division II team championships.

Prior to coaching at Redwood, Wright coached at Dinuba High School, where he helped develop eight CIF State placers, including a CIF State finalist.

Before coaching, Wright was a standout multi-sport athlete at Dinuba High School, where he built an impressive career in both wrestling and football. On the mat, he was a four-time CIF State qualifier and a two-time Central Section Masters finalist.

On the football field, Wright remains Dinuba High School’s all-time leading rusher and scorer, cementing his legacy as one of the school’s premier athletes.

Following high school, Wright continued his athletic career playing Division I football at California State University, Sacramento.

In addition to coaching, Wright currently serves as a physical education teacher at Redwood High School.

Jacob Wright brings elite collegiate wrestling experience and national-level success to the Redwood High School coaching staff.

Wright competed at the Division I level for both California State University, Fresno and University of Wyoming, where he established himself as one of the top wrestlers in the country throughout his collegiate career.

A four-time NCAA Division I National Championships qualifier, Wright finished his college career with 103 Division I victories and earned a Round of 12 finish at the 2021 NCAA Championships in St. Louis, narrowly missing All-American honors.

In addition to his success on the mat, Wright was a four-time Academic All-American, demonstrating excellence both athletically and academically.

Throughout his collegiate career, Wright consistently placed among the top competitors in major tournaments, including:

• Big 12 Conference Place Finishes — 5th, 5th, 5th, 3rd, and 3rd

• Cliff Keen Invitational — 5th Place and 3rd Place finishes

• 2023 Soldier Salute Champion

Prior to college, Wright was a standout high school wrestler and two-time CIF State placer, finishing 2nd and 4th in California. 

In addition to coaching,  Wright currently serves as Work-Based learning coordinator for Visalia Unified School District

Marcus Moore enters his third season as a coach with the Redwood High School wrestling program, bringing years of coaching experience and high-level athletic success to the staff. 

Prior to joining Redwood, Coach Moore served as the head wrestling coach at El Diamante High School from 2014–2023. During his tenure, he helped develop nine CIF State qualifiers. 

As an athlete, Moore wrestled at Clovis High School from 2000–2004, where he earned a Round of 12 finish at the CIF State Championships at 215 pounds. 

Following high school, Moore continued his athletic career playing Division I football at the University of California, Davis. 

In addition to coaching, Moore currently serves as a History teacher at El Diamante High School.

Izaiah Ozuna enters his second season with the Redwood High School wrestling program, bringing both collegiate wrestling experience and prior coaching experience to the staff. 

Ozuna is a graduate of Frontier High School, where he was a two-time CIF State qualifier and earned a Round of 12 finish at the 2013 CIF State Championships. 

Following high school, he continued his wrestling career at both Simpson University and Bakersfield College. While competing at Bakersfield College, Ozuna earned a Round of 12 finish at the California Community College State Championships. 

Ozuna began his coaching career at Frontier High School in 2017 before joining the Redwood coaching staff in 2025.

Danny Alvarado enters his first season with the Redwood High School wrestling program after previously serving five seasons as an assistant coach at Selma High School. 

Alvarado is a graduate of Mission Oak High School, where he competed in wrestling and qualified for the CIF State Championships during his high school career. 

Following high school, Alvarado attended California State University, Fresno, where he completed his college education. 

In addition to coaching, Alvarado currently serves as a math teacher at Selma High School.

Bryan Hutchings enters his fifth season with the Redwood High School wrestling program, where he serves as the Head JV Coach. During his time at Redwood, Hutchings has also contributed to the school’s athletic department as a JV football coach. 

A graduate of Redwood High School, Hutchings was a multi-sport athlete who competed in football, wrestling, and baseball during his high school career. 

Following graduation, he attended California Polytechnic State University, where he completed his college education. 

In addition to coaching, Hutchings currently serves as a math teacher at Redwood High School, continuing to impact student-athletes both in the classroom and in competition.

Anthony Harrison enters his third season with the Redwood High School wrestling program after previously serving one season as the JV boys head coach at El Diamante High School. 

During his coaching career, Harrison has helped contribute to successful team performances, including assisting the girls' program at El Diamante High School in capturing a CIF Division II Championship. 

A graduate of Mt. Whitney High School, Harrison competed for the wrestling program and earned Team MVP honors in 2007 for his leadership, work ethic, and performance on the mat.
